What is the class?

Like a Pro is a 3 day course for professionals who use touch for sexual healing and erotic education. The purpose of the class is to give you the awareness and the skills to make your sessions safe, effective and satisfying for both you and your client.

The class is experiential, pragmatic, focused, packed with good stuff, and fun.

Who is it for?

This class is for any professional who uses touch in the practice of sexual healing, tantra, sacred sexuality, erotic massage, sexological bodywork, surrogacy, traditional sex work, or any related practice. Beginners through seasoned professionals.

Others who have found the class helpful include talk therapists, massage therapists, sexuality coaches and non-professionals who wish to clarify their own erotic path.

What will I learn?

  1. What you are responsible for in your sessions and what you are not

  1. Assessment - why it’s critical and how to do it

  1. The single most important skill for a practitioner and how to develop it

  1. Giving and receiving – what the difference is, why it’s not what you think it is, and why it’s important for both you and your clients

  1. The importance of a sense of safety and how to create it

  1. When it’s appropriate to bring your own pleasure into session and when it’s not

  1. The nature of healing and how to tap into it whatever your methods

  1. How to bring both clarity and heart into your hands so that all your touch is rich, healing, juicy and satisfying

How is it structured?

The first day and a half focus on your experience. It is only by finding your own edges that you understand the concepts and practices of assisting your clients with theirs.

Then the last day we bring the experiences together into a format you can apply to your practice and use with clients.

What is not covered?

We do not teach bodywork, but instead the skills to clarify, enhance and empower all your touch. There are many opportunities for exchanging touch as part of the learning, but there is no genital touch in the workshop.

Business and marketing skills are mentioned briefly but not focused on.

Why is this class unique?

There are many wonderful places to learn bodywork and tantra skills, but these two critical pieces make your work as a professional, well, professional.

  1. Assessment – finding out what your client is ready for and – more importantly – what they are not. This must be done with guided body experience, not just with conversation.

  1. Empowerment and informed consent – teaching your client how to become exquisitely aware of their own desires and limits. Reminding them it’s OK to say ‘No’ is not enough.

This class draws heavily on my body of work, the Wheel of Consent, which clarifies the modes of giving, receiving and touch. They are not what is commonly assumed, and as far as I know, this model and the clarity it brings are completely unique.
